Tarifa / Spain ( Strait of Gibraltar)

Strait of Gibraltar

Tarifa is a province of Cadiz which is located in Andalucia Region of Spain. The town is located on the southern coast of Spain which is called as "Costa de la Luz" (Coast of Light) and across the Straits of Gibraltar facing Morocco.

Tarifa has a Mediterranean climate with Oceanic influences, with warm summers and very mild winters. Winters are rainy whereas the summer is largely dry. 

Castle Guzman el Bueno
The town has a castle which was built in 960 by Abd-ar-Rahman III. The castle is called "Guzman el Bueno". In addition to this monuments the town has influence of the 13th century and a church which is named as St. Mary. 
The St. Matthew Church built in the early 16th century is in Gothic style which is also a former mosque like the St. Mary church. A must see place is also the Ruins of the Roman city Bealo Claudia.

Windsurf and Kitesurf
Tarifa has become a popular  tourist place of tourist originated from Europe. In addition to its historical places Tarifa is also popular with its coast where windsurfers and kitesurfers are their due to the strong winds caused by the straits.
