SANTORINI - THERA

Santorini ( Thera ) is an island in the southern Aegean Sea which is located between Greece and Turkey. Exact position is 200 km (120 mi) southeast from Greece.
Santorini is a volcanic island in the Cyclades ( Caldera ) group of the Greek islands. The island was named by the Latin Empire in the 13th century, and is a reference to Saint Irene which is the name of the old cathedral in the village of Perissa. Before, it was known as "Kalliste" (the most beautiful one), "Strongyle" (the circular one) or "Thera". In the 19th century, Thera was revived as the official name of the island but it is well known as "Santorini".  During the Ottoman Empire where the ottomans where dominating also the Aegean Sea the name for this island was "Santurin" or "Santoron".

This island is famous for its fantastic views architecture, history and atmosphere. Especially during the summer time the island becomes vistiors from all over the world. Stunning Sunsets, beaches with black and red volcanic pebbles, the Beach of Perissa, the Red Beach in Akrotiri area, The Kamari Beach (Black)
A place where you can feel and see the endless Freedom and Peace, the power of Antique Gods and the Birth of Humanity on Mother Earth.
According to some investigations, there is also the possibility that ATLANTIS was located here before the Volcani Explotion which created the actual form of the island. Come and decide it by your self........

Red Beach

There are several villages on Santorini which should be visited.

Fira - the main Cliff-preched town of Santorini.
Oia - a place for unforgettable Sunsets.
Pyrgos - the highest point on the island.
Karterados - a place of the traditional Santorini architecture.
Megalochori - traditional village with white cycladic churches.
Vothonas - a small rock village, church of St. Ann is here.
Perissa - Beaches and traditional Greek fish taverns.
Kamari - black pebble beach.
