Giostra della Quintana is a tradition of Jousting which is held by the city Foligno since 1946. For this tournament 10 neighborhoods of Foligno are selecting their "Knight" to represent them. The original festival dates goes back to 1613, to the Renaissance, when duels proved loyalty and love. It is not like in 1613 where the fight was between Knights but present participants must stick their lances through a small ring held by a dummy, called "Quintana". This Quintana symbolizes a medieval soldier and is the namesake of the event. During these two days there will be colorful parades and theater scenes, as well as a traditional market, where oil, wine, leather and jewelry are sold.

If you are interested and would like to see a Bullfight than don´t miss the upcoming festival in Ronda/Spain. This festival has a history of 100 years and it is the most celebrated festival which takes place annually in the first week of September every year. 

This festival celebrates three famous people with strong connections to Ronda. The famous 18th century bullfighter, Pedro Romero; the famous Spanish painter Francisco de la Goya, and Antoñio Ordóñez of the 20th century. The Bullfights takes places in the spectacular two hundred year old Bullring of Ronda. This is a sacred ground for bullfighting  for  centuries  and you will never forget the "Olés" when fans are joing the fight by their voices. You will enjoy your stay and have a lot of fun with the music, the dancing, the singing, the local wine, or the bullfights, you will never forget your time in the village of Ronda for the rest of your life.

As know as the oldest film festivals in the World "The Venice International Film Festival" will start 1st of September. It was founded by Count Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata in 1932. Screenings of the films from all over the World will take place in the historical Palazzo del Cinema which is on the island of Lido (Venice). The film festival is just one part of the Venice Biennale, a major biennial exhibition and festival for contemporary art.

The F1 season consists of 19 races, known as Grands Prix, held on purpose-built circuits, and public roads and closed city streets (Monaco Grand Prix). The results of each race are combined to determine two World Championships, one for the drivers and one for the Teams (constructors), with racing drivers, constructor teams, track officials, organizers, and circuits required to be holders of valid Super Licences, the highest class racing licence issued by the FIA.

BUT , check ones again to be sure for it. Check if your insurance covers your medical costs when you travel overseas or at the particular destination.

Thousands of people all around the World will attend at Lake Orta in northern Italy for the World Fireworks Championship, as the world's finest pyrotechnicians paint the night sky with momentary works of art. In additon to the Cahmpionship other shows are held on the nearby lakes. Major firework manufacturers from four continents take part in this competition, demonstrating their pyrotechnic abilities and creativity, while spectators get to vote on the shows they think are most spectacular.

12 day event in Stuttgart, its the right place for wine lovers. Each year a million of visitors are pouring into Stuttgart the enjoy the taste of the Wine and the atmosphere of the "Wine Village". Around 50 of Wuerttemberg´s most well-known wineries join to create the "Weindorf" on two squares namely "Marktplatz" and "Schillerplatz".

There are around 120 cozy wine alcoves which are decorated. In addition to the wine you will also have the opportunity to taste the Swabian Cuisine and see their folklore tradition. During these 12 days you can taste around 250 different Wuerttemberg wines.
Generally German Wines are lighter bodied and are lower in alcohol percentage ( 8.5-10 %). Among the Riesling and the Gutedel you can taste the Mueller-Thurgau, which is probably the most widely plantes grape in Germany. In addition to these the Trollinger is a light red wine which is low on acid and is has the rarest taste of the region.

The construction of the castle started in 1868 and was partially ready for occupation in the end of 1873, where it was fully completed in 1892. 

Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public. King Ludwig the II was a shy king and had built the castle in order to withdraw from the public.

You may wonder why the castle is familiar to you. It must be because it was featured in many movies and was the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park and the Cinderella Castles at the Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland. Today Neuschwanstein is one of the most popular castles in Europe. Every year around 1.3 million people are visiting the castle.

To reach the castle, you should first get to Munich / Germany . Then you need to take a train  or renta  a car to get to Füssen and then a bus in the direction to Schwangau until you reach the stop Hohenschwangau (.by car you go directly) From the bus station you can walk to the castle (about 30 minutes). It is a "Nice Walk". : ))

The Hunyad Castle is the biggest and the most imposing of the Transylvania's castles. In This castle is the place where Vlad III of the Wallachian empire (we all know him as Dracula) was held as a prisoner for 7 years from 1462 till 1469. This castle used to be a defensive structure and remains to be one of the most evident symbols of the Middle Ages.

The history of the palace starts in the Middle Ages when a chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Pena was built on the top of the hill above Sintra./Portugal (São Pedro de Penaferrim). According to the tradition, the construction started after an apparition of the Virgin Mary. King John II, ın 1493, accompanied by his wife Queen Leonor, made a pilgrimage to the site to fulfill a vow. His successor, King Manuel I, was also very fond of this sanctuary, and ordered the construction there of a monastery which was donated to the Order of Saint Jerome. Pena was for centuries a small, place for meditation, housing a maximum of eighteen monks.

Topkapı Palace

Topkapı Palace was constructed by Fatih Sultan Mehmet, (the Conqueror of Istanbul 1453). In 1478 the palace has been the official residence of the Ottoman Sultans and center of State Administration for around 400 years until the construction of Dolmabahce Palace by Sultan Abdulmecid. The palace is covering around 700.000 m.² area. The palace is visited by many visitors all around the world. Today, Topkapi Palace is a museum and the treasure of the museum is considered as one of the most famous treasures in the world.
