As know as the oldest film festivals in the World "The Venice International Film Festival" will start 1st of September. It was founded by Count Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata in 1932. Screenings of the films from all over the World will take place in the historical Palazzo del Cinema which is on the island of Lido (Venice). The film festival is just one part of the Venice Biennale, a major biennial exhibition and festival for contemporary art. 

The festival's awards are the :

Colin Firth

Leone d'Oro (Golden Lion), which is awarded to the best film.  In 2009 it was awarded to the film Lebanon regie by Maoz

Ksenia Rappoport

Coppa Volpi (Volpi Cup), which is awarded to the best actor and actress. In 2009 best actor was Colin Firth (film, A Single Man) and the best actress was Ksenia Rappoport (film, La doppia Ora)
